Cave Tubing & Cave Exploration

This tour’s starting point is at St. Herman’s National Park, here your guide will be waiting for you once your tour is confirmed. Your guide will briefly explain safety precautions, and what to expect on this tour before heading to the cave. There is a short 15 mins hike, mostly flat terrain, through some nature trails and part jungle where you can appreciate some birds and plant species.

Once you reach the cave entrance, you will descend into darkness and your adventure begins. Your guide will be providing some interesting details on the geology of these caves, conservation efforts and how these were once used by the Mayas as portals to the underworld. On this particular tour you will also get to explore St. Herman’s cave more in depth and its connections to the Mayas and some of their artifacts. You will come off your tubes at a specific section of the cave to explore it’s chambers once used by the Mayas for ceremonial purposes.

The tour lasts approx. 4 hours from start to finish.
